High Holborn (pronounced /ˈhoʊbɚn/ hoh-bərn) is a road in Holborn in central London, England. It starts in the west near St Giles Circus, then goes east, past the Kingsway and Southampton Row, and continues east. The road becomes Holborn at the junction with Gray's Inn Road.
The nearest tube stations are Tottenham Court Road, Holborn, and Chancery Lane, all on the Central Line which runs beneath it. The road is designated the A40 road.
The street was mentioned in Adrian Mitchell's poem "Celia, Celia":
When I am sad and weary
When I think all hope has gone
When I walk along High Holborn
I think of you with nothing on
